Testimonials: Eagle Hall & Ashfold Side

What an excellent day at Eagle Hall yesterday, I enjoyed it immensely. Didn’t care for the first drive – too difficult for an old man to keep his balance – but all the others were superb and I shot quite well at times (halted the high bird in front of me!!). Filming Snuffy was the high point, 20 retrieves all perfectly executed after Red Brae, courtesy of your well-mannered pickers-up. Something one doesn’t often see. I’ll be at Longside on Monday and I certainly shall not take Snuffy there. Yogi will be on duty – I cannot ruin him! Thanks very much indeed Frank.

I did my first game shoot here today. I was very impressed with how helpful they were. I was provided with a loader to teach me and a driver as I didn’t have a 4x4. Not the best weather for the birds but still some very good drives with some challenging birds. Definitely needs another visit soon.

This day was at Eagle Hall and it was exceptional! The shoot team works very hard to ensure good shooting for all and succeeds! The hospitality was excellent. All in all a truly memorable day.

Just a short note as I sit in the hotel at Manchester airport for my flight home tomorrow morning to say thank you for our 3 days of truly memorable shooting. The hospitality was superb and we hope to see you again next season. All three groups of guns were great companions and A was terrific and on my return I shall definitely request his services. I may also have an interest in one of his simulated days. Thank you again and I wish you all the best for the rest of the season. When you have 2018 dates please forward them to us.

A huge thank you to yourself plus George and the team for an absolutely stunning day yesterday. All the guns commented on the excellent shooting and the fun they had. A huge credit to you. It will be hard to top that this season. Once again many thanks.

Just felt I had to drop you a note and compliment the sterling efforts by George and the team to deliver what was the most spectacular day yesterday.

The famous Yorkshire Riviera weather threw its challenges at George all day, fog, sun, wind and after a tough morning in the fog he delivered three very special drives in the quarry after an early lunch showing some of the best and toughest birds any of us have seen on the Splash and Leapers.

I am sure all the team would agree with the above but more me it’s a bit more though provoking.

To be honest I have been falling out of love a bit with shooting especially this season, not sure why but I have probable just shot too much these past few years and got bored.

But yesterday reminded me not only why I love shooting but more importantly it’s just as important where we shoot and who with and the Moor with you guys is that it’s all about for me.

Frank, I just want to take a moment to again thank you, and all your staff, especially Steph and Stewart for their efforts, and the three gamekeepers, for providing guns with excellent shooting over my four day time with you, and for the care provided in making it possible physically for me to participate in the shoots.

The Eagle Hall and Ashfold Side shoot was spectacular, but way beyond my shooting skills. I am reminded of a drive once at a Scottish venue, when several of the guns in our group asked if they could be shown some high pheasants – the result was much like your pigeon story – 90+ shots fired, three pheasants killed. That’s not the kind of shooting I need to experience again!

I also wish to compliment you upon the catering services for breakfast and lunches. The entire crew, led by Miss Debbie, did a great job.

I am very much looking forward to my three day visit the first week of December with my son.

Just dropping you a note to day what a fabulous day we enjoyed today. Your keeper George presented some exceptional birds on all drives testing the guns. Nigel was so attentive and ensured our day was memorable and we were well fed and watered.
